Story in a few words
Weapons, from Barbarian director Zach Cregger, begins with the eerie disappearance of nearly an entire third-grade class, leaving behind only one child. Set in the town of Maybrook, the film unfolds through interwoven perspectives—a teacher, a grieving parent, a police officer, and others—each piece deepening the mystery. Instead of relying on jump scares, it builds dread through atmosphere, fractured storytelling, and unsettling imagery, creating a haunting experience that’s as emotional as it is terrifying.

In my own words
The day I saw the trailer for this film i really wanted to watch it because i don't know how to describe it but i think this story is quite a simple one but still gave me chills the way the kids ran through those empty streets in the darkness. I just wanted to know why those kids ran like this so i said to myself to watch it as soon as possible and oh boy that was a good decision.
For me this film had its own vibe together with the really good cinematography and score/music combined. There were really tense moments that sometimes really scared me.
The way they filmed it was really clever to play with our minds and instincts a little bit. For me the cinematography was one the best things throughout the film. Those zoom-in shots sometimes where really good and really fit into the story.
The score was really well made and fit to those tense moments. There were really some F-upped moments which sometimes gave me goosebumps and scared the hell out of me. There where no scenes which where hard to watch but still was on like the limit which i personally liked.
I also liked the dark humor sometimes the used in some scenes. Also the characters where really good written by Zach Cregger. What i also noticed is that every character who played a key role in the story did had their own pre-story till the present moment so that we knew what led to this moment we just watched.
The editing was really nice because after something crazy happened the switched to a black screen with one of the characters names written and then showed the pre-story of the characters which i personally thought was really clever way to show the characters. This style of storytelling also instantly reminded me of Tarantino's approach to connect all side stories to the main story and main events. I think overall watching this kind of thriller/horror for the first time in the cinema was really entertaining and also scary. I had some few jump scares and i think also people who enjoy watching those kind of films will have also at least one jumpscare and WTF moment.
