Story in a few words
Kill Bill Volume 1 is a visually striking action film directed by Quentin Tarantino, blending samurai cinema, martial arts, and Western revenge tropes. It follows The Bride (Uma Thurman), a former assassin betrayed and left for dead by her former team, the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, led by her ex-lover Bill.

It follows The Bride (Uma Thurman), a former assassin betrayed and left for dead by her former team, the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, led by her ex-lover Bill.
After waking from a four-year coma, she sets out on a relentless quest for revenge, targeting each former ally, starting with O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu), now a powerful yakuza leader. The film features stylized violence, intense sword fights, and iconic set pieces—especially the unforgettable Crazy 88 battle in Tokyo.
With its nonlinear storytelling, anime sequences, and eclectic soundtrack, Kill Bill: Volume 1 is a bold, genre-blending film that showcases Tarantino’s flair for cinematic homage and storytelling.
In my own words
Kill Bill 1 is my second most favorite Tarantino film, just sitting behind Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. But in general, this film is my all-time favorite action film ever — for eternity!!
ITS GREAT.

This film has no boring or too-long scenes at all; it's just fully action packed and fun. Quentin really did a phenomenal job with the script and screenplay. The perfect plot with the perfect visuals makes a perfect film. You can really see that Tarantino gave his best with this one, and I think he also had a lot of fun filming it. He was so creative with the shots and, in general, with all the scenes.
There's not much more to say than: watch this film yourself. You only need to watch it once, and you can't stop watching it again and again and again. For me personally, Vol. 1 is better than the second one in my opinion, but give the second one a try as well. It's really similar, with a lot of action of course, but I liked the first one more.
Funny part is that those two films are not separate films they just made one film into two because the original film was too long for release. But Tarantino knew that already during production; he just waited until Harvey Weinstein noticed that one film was too long.
I really liked the cinematography because those shots were just so creative that you can notice it while watching and really say in your head: Okay, that's cool. Also, another reason why this film is so great is the music/score — it fits every scene or action sequence. They really put some hours in and collaborated with cool artists to make the album. There are some really famous tracks and even iconic sound effects from this film. Especially in that one scene with the close-up of Uma Thurman's eyes and her enemy’s. To this day, it's an iconic sound effect. You need to watch the film, and then you’ll know what I'm talking about.
Also, a bit about the actors: without the phenomenal performances from the cast, it wouldn’t be as fun to watch. The actors, who did a lot of their own action sequences, actually put in real work and training — which is another reason why this film is so great.
So… what more can I say to motivate you to just give this film a try?
I mean, come on — just look at those screenshots!
ITS GREAT.
