Story in a few words
Drive follows a quiet, mysterious Hollywood stunt driver who works by day in the film industry and by night as a skilled getaway driver for hire. He lives a solitary life, ruled by precision and control, until a chance encounter draws him into a dangerous world where loyalty, violence, and survival collide. Stylish, atmospheric, and pulsing with tension, the film blends neo-noir mood with bursts of raw intensity, exploring themes of identity, morality, and the cost of human connection.
In my own words
Drive became one my most favorite films in recent time because i just love the whole atmospheric and vibe of the story. I really love to watch this film time to time because not only it's a tense action film but also has some calm and atmospheric scenes. In general the story is very good and not boring because there's happening a lot. What i also really love about that film are the colors, those neo type city shots in the night really give this film a own vibe which really fits well into the story. What also makes the film so special for me is the score. The synth wave type music fits perfectly to the cinematography and the story. Every time i watch the film i get the feeling that i'm also right there driving through the city of LA because all the things combined really creates a own world. I especially really love the performance of Ryan, Bryan Cranston and Oscar Isaac because the really fit in well into the characters.
I think my most favorite part in the film is the beginning because it instantly shows you what's the story about and also the style of the cinematography.
The film starts with a slow pan showing the apartment and then Ryan explaining the time window the robbers have and then few minutes later where he waits for the robbers without any music just pure tension and then also escaping the bank that it also has no music. Personally i really love that because it really throws you in that situation and give you the feeling that you are with them in the car.
I really can recommend you this film as it's a well balanced action film but also has really heartwarming story.
And i think that you also gonna love the atmospheric vibe throughout the story.
And as Ryan always said: ''I Drive''
